JOB SUMMARY 

The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of a company or organization. They are responsible for providing accurate financial information, implementing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Finance Manager also works closely with other departments to support their financial needs, analyze financial data, and provide strategic recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the finance department 
• Preparing financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts 
• Monitoring and analyzing departmental budgets, expenses, and cash flow.
•  Identifying areas for cost reduction and implementing appropriate measures 
•  Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all financial activities 
• Conducting financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning. 
• Managing relationships with stakeholders including banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies 
• Developing finance policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
•  Providing financial guidance to other departments to support their operational needs.
•  Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions in accordance with established policies 
•  Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action. 
•  Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take. 
•  Maintain the financial health of the company. 
•  Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans. 
•  Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances. 
•  Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
•  Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
•  Liase with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
• Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (master's degree preferred) 
•  A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or related roles (managerial experience preferred) 
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices 
•  Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations. 
•  Proficiency in financial management software/tools (e.g., Odoo, Excel) 
•  Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.  
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to integrity in financial operations
