Job Responsibilities:
- Negotiate contracts and deals with sellers and distributors during procurement and management of goods and services.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and practices by maintaining an ethical stance through and through.
- Boost cost savings by analyzing market trends and technologies that promote it.
- Deep dive into research and chalk out potential vendors and suppliers for purchase and material management.
- Document, log and report on procurement activities.
- Approve purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
- Build and foster long-term relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost structures to optimize procurement decisions.
- Prepare annual procurement plans and budgets.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
- Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process for goods and services.
- Ensure timely delivery and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Approve purchase orders and monitor inventory to avoid shortages or excess.
- Monitor procurement costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with budget limits and financial policies.
- Conduct regular spend analysis to identify opportunities for savings.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Assess risks in supplier contracts and procurement processes and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
- Lead and mentor procurement staff to achieve departmental goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, operations, and logistics) to meet business needs.
- Promote continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, savings, supplier performance, and market trends.
- Use data-driven insights to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Proven experience of a minimum of five years managing supply chain operations.
- Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision.
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
- Management and leadership skills.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a Baghdad resident.
