Job Responsibilities: 

  • Negotiate contracts and deals with sellers and distributors during procurement and management of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and practices by maintaining an ethical stance through and through.
  • Boost cost savings by analyzing market trends and technologies that promote it.
  • Deep dive into research and chalk out potential vendors and suppliers for purchase and material management.
  • Document, log and report on procurement activities.
  • Approve purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Build and foster long-term relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost structures to optimize procurement decisions.
  • Prepare annual procurement plans and budgets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
  • Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process for goods and services.
  • Ensure timely delivery and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Approve purchase orders and monitor inventory to avoid shortages or excess.
  • Monitor procurement costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with budget limits and financial policies.
  • Conduct regular spend analysis to identify opportunities for savings.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Assess risks in supplier contracts and procurement processes and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
  • Lead and mentor procurement staff to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, operations, and logistics) to meet business needs.
  • Promote continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, savings, supplier performance, and market trends.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Proven experience of a minimum of five years managing supply chain operations.
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a Baghdad resident.
