Purpose of the Role

To perform welding, fabrication, and repair of rig equipment and structures, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company QHSE, IMS, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding using approved processes such as SMAW, GMAW/MIG, FCAW, and GTAW/TIG as required.
• Fabricate, repair, and maintain rig structures, pipework, tanks, walkways, handrails, and other equipment.
• Interpret drawings, sketches, and welding procedures to complete assigned work.
• Comply with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Hot Work Permit requirements, and inspection standards.
• Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
• Ensure proper use of welding consumables, gas cylinders, and safety equipment.
• Maintain accurate welding records and ensure housekeeping standards are met.

Authority

• Stop any welding or hot work that presents a safety, environmental, or operational risk.
• Refuse to perform welding where materials, joint preparation, permits, or procedures do not meet required standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with formal welding training.
• Valid API 1104 or ASME Section IX Welder Qualification certification.
• Certifications in Hot Work, H2S, First Aid/CPR, and Fire Fighting.
• Minimum 3–5 years of welding experience, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry.
• Proficiency in multiple welding processes and ability to read technical drawings.
• Basic English required; Arabic preferred
