Electrical / Critical Power Lead

The Electrical / Critical Power Lead is responsible for supervising and overseeing all electrical works related to the data center project, ensuring compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. The role includes supporting testing, commissioning, handover, and transition into facility operations to ensure reliable and uninterrupted critical power infrastructure performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor all electrical works on-site .
- Oversee MV/LV systems, UPS systems, generators, batteries, busway systems, electrical panels, grounding/earthing, lighting, and power monitoring systems.
- Review site installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical systems, ICT infrastructure, fire protection systems, BMS/DCIM platforms, and civil works.
- Attend, witness, and support electrical testing activities including pre-commissioning, commissioning, SAT, and integrated systems testing.
- Monitor and track electrical punch list items, pending works, NCRs, and corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.
- Review and verify electrical test reports, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, and project handover documentation.
- Support the development and preparation of electrical SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for operational readiness.
- Support the transition into facility operations by monitoring electrical systems and assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance activities during the initial operational phase.
Requirements:
| Education | Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering. |
| Experience | Minimum 7–10 years of experience in electrical construction, testing & commissioning, or facility operations. |
| Preferred Experience | Experience in data centers, telecom facilities, hospitals, airports, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical power environments. |
| Technical Knowledge | Strong knowledge of UPS systems, generators, LV/MV panels, ATS/synchronization systems, batteries, busway systems, earthing, power monitoring systems, and electrical testing procedures. |
| Software / Tools | Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and reporting tools; ETAP knowledge is considered an advantage. |
| Preferred Certifications | Electrical safety certifications, data center training, testing & commissioning (T&C) training, OSHA/HSE certifications, or manufacturer certifications for UPS/generator systems. |
| Languages | Arabic is required; English is preferred for technical manuals, reporting, and vendor communication. |
| Key Skills | Site supervision, technical review, issue tracking, coordination, reporting, testing witnessing, and troubleshooting skills. |
