JOB SUMMARY 

The Sound Engineer is responsible for managing audio production and ensuring high-quality sound during various events. his role requires technical expertise in sound equipment and systems, as well as strong communication and problem-solving skills. The Sound Engineer collaborates with the venue staff to capture and enhance the desired sound experience. 

JOB IDENTIFICATION

Job Title: Events Sound Engineer

Work location: Erbil

Report to: CEO

Type of position: Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Setting up and testing sound equipment before events.
• Set up and operate sound equipment such as microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixing consoles, and recording devices during events.
• Collaborate with lighting, camera and other people.
• Ensure proper placement and calibration of audio equipment for optimal sound quality.
• Mixing and balancing audio during events.
• Collaborate with venue staff to understand their sound requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to audio equipment or systems.
• Record, edit, and mix audio tracks as needed.
• Manage audio effects and ensure synchronization with visuals or performances.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment for efficient operations.
• Stay updated with trends in sound technology and implement new techniques or equipment when necessary.
• Foster a positive working environment by effectively communicating with team members and addressing any concerns or conflicts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience as a Sound Engineer or similar role is essential
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating various sound equipment and software tools
• In-depth knowledge of acoustics, signal flow, equalization, compression, reverb, and other audio processing techniques
• Familiarity with different music genres and their specific sound requirements
• Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify issues with sound systems or equipment
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with artists, producers, and venue staff
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• A degree or certification in Sound Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.
•  Willingness to travel - this position may spend up to 20% of time traveling to other cities inside Iraq.
