Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Draft the Bank’s Compliance policy manual in compliance with the applied local and international laws and regulations and best practices.
- Perform periodic review of the Bank’s applied policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with applied laws and regulations.
- Notify senior management and all related businesses units of new laws and regulations, as well as the amendments made on existing ones, issued by the supervisory authorities and provide the necessary recommendations with respect to the required actions or amendments on the Bank’s internal policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance.
- Follow up with all related business units in order to implement the necessary amendments on the Bank’s applied policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with the latest communicated laws and regulations.
- Maintain a register of all existing “products, services, policies and procedures”, and perform non-compliance
- Update the “Regulatory register” in order to account for new laws and regulations or amendments done on existing ones.
- Contribute in the implementation of Bank’s ethical rules by raising the awareness of managers and employees regarding the consequences which may arise from the violation of these rules and ensure training on these rules.
- Submit an annual “work plan” to the line manager and senior management covering the subsequent year and issue quarterly updates highlighting incomplete tasks and suggested amendments on the set deadlines.
- Report to line manager and Senior management all non-compliance findings identified in the non-compliance risk assessment report, internal and external audit reports, in addition to those highlighted in the supervisory authorities mission reports.
- Provide senior management with recommendations in order to clear pending non-compliance issues and follow up with related business owners on the approved action plan in order to resolve reported findings within the set deadlines.
- Provide senior management with monthly updates on pending non-compliance findings.
Qualifications and Job Requirements Education
- Masters or MBA in Business Administration or similar Experience
- 7+ years of experience in the banking sector. Experience in Auditing is a plus
Required Initial Training
- Thorough understanding of core business
- Internal Rotation across the Bank
- Trainings imposed by the Central bank (Accounting, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Auditing etc.) Qualifications
- Knowledge of banking operations and services
- Familiarity with CBI circulars in addition to applicable local and international laws and regulations
