Key Responsibilities:
• Risk Evaluation & Analysis: Review client applications, risk profiles, and exposures, working with the underwriting team to make informed decisions on policy terms, conditions, and pricing.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a team of junior underwriters and assistants, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure the team meets underwriting goals.
• Policy Issuance & Documentation: Oversee the preparation, review, and issuance of insurance policies, endorsements, and certificates in accordance with company standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with sales, claims, and actuarial teams to ensure alignment between underwriting strategies, risk management, and business goals.
• Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of the underwriting grosses, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and thoroughness in all documentation and risk assessment activities.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular reports on underwriting performance, risk exposure, and financial results to senior management. Track key performance indicators (KPls) and underwriting metrics.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the underwriting workflow to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, Finance, or a related field, Professional certifications (eg., C
ACIl) are preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in general insurance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial capacity.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of general insurance products, underwriting principles, risk management, and
insurance industry regulations, Proficiency in underwriting software and MS Office Suite.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a team of underwriting professionals to achieve business goals.
• Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to assess complex risk scenarios and provide clear, actionable solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with Internal teams, clients, and external partners.
* Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong focus on quality control in
underwriting processes.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with risk assessment in multiple general insurance lines (property, casualty, liability).
• Knowledge of regional insurance market dynamics and legal/regulatory changes.
• Experience in developing and implementing underwriting policies and procedures.
