Job Summary
amal.com is looking for a dynamic category manager to play an important role within the Retail team by adding selection, analyzing business data, driving vendor performance, negotiating terms, and handling promotions. As a category manager, you will be responsible for relationships with key vendors and partners. You will work with Iraqi and global vendors to drive and close all aspects of terms, which includes analysis and projections, as well as direct negotiations with decision-makers in local vendors. Additionally, you will increase product category sales, by, improving selection, driving store marketing promotions, and reacting to industry-related economic trends.
the candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to analyze and communicate terms and margin structures.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities
- Experience in buying, account management, product management, project management, financial analysis, or marketing.
- Able to drive negotiations through completion.
- Strong analytical abilities and analytical skills
- Track record of taking ownership and getting it done in an environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel.
- Demonstrated excellent business skills with strong written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Should be entrepreneurial, and innovative, with the ability to recognize the need to coordinate his / her team’s activities within the organization.
- Should have experience in defining and implementing long-term business plans based on industry trends and competitive analysis.
- Should come from or have worked with a recognizable eCommerce business in Iraq / internationally.
Job Requirement, Education & Skills
- Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Management / Business or related discipline
- 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Analytical skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in relevant categories in e-commerce/retail.
- Data proficiency and use of Excel and systems.
