Purpose of the Role
To perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rig mechanical equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations in compliance with company QHSE, IMS, and ISO/API standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, mud pumps, compressors, drawworks, hydraulic systems, and other rig equipment.
- Diagnose faults, replace defective components, and support equipment overhauls and rig-up/rig-down activities.
- Apply PTW, JSA, and LOTO procedures before performing maintenance tasks.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders, and equipment inspection reports accurately.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and manage spare parts and consumables.
- Report equipment defects, safety hazards, environmental incidents, and near misses.
- Work closely with other maintenance personnel and support the training of junior staff.
Authority
- Stop any unsafe work that poses a risk to personnel, equipment, or the environment.
- Isolate and tag defective equipment as Out of Service until repairs are completed.
- Verify the implementation of LOTO and other safety controls before work begins.
Qualifications
- Technical Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance or related trade.
- Certifications in LOTO, H2S, First Aid/CPR, Fire Fighting, Rigging & Lifting, and Confined Space Awareness.
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in oil & gas drilling operations.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
- Basic English required; Arabic preferred.
