- Understanding of the inventory system and location of parts within the department.
- Ability to identify parts.
- To have received training in standard stock- keeping systems used.
- Understand paperwork and documentation such as delivery notes, returns slips, purchase invoices, credit notes and statements.
- Be able to use stock control and location equipment.
- To have received training and to be adept at inputting information onto a computer.
- Capable of demonstrating a professional and courteous relationship with managers, staff, suppliers and customers alike.
- Support the Parts Manager in preparing department’s marketing plan.
- Assist on promotional events and activities
- Assist during stocktaking in the inputting of adjustment, amendments and other administrative matters
- Report on adverse variances, unknown or suspected shortages/ surpluses and other unaccountable differences.
- Count physical stock and generally assist at the physical stock take.
- Ensure that all tasks within designated responsibility are carried out as required by Your Dealership Ltd policies. In particular Maintenance of stock control system, including the booking-in of parts, both franchise and non-franchise
- Review with Parts Manager all aspects of the functions and tasks to achieve greater efficiency and remove wastage, bottlenecks and other barriers to improvements.
- Work with Parts Manager to design, set up and maintain a comprehensive but easy to use archiving and filing system.
- Willing to travel within provinces when required
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role / dealership experience preferred.
