Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repair:
   • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on drilling rigs.
   • Service and maintain diesel engines, Hydraulic pumps, Mud pumps compressors, rotary systems, hoisting equipment, and power systems.
   • Replace or repair worn or defective parts and components.
2. Preventative Maintenance:
   • Execute a preventative maintenance schedule for all rig equipment.
   • Lubricate machinery and ensure systems are functioning at optimal levels.
3. Troubleshooting:
   • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and identify root causes.
   • Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results to address malfunctions and report to Chief mechanic before acting.
4. Safety Compliance:
   • Adhere to safety regulations and ensure all maintenance activities comply with company and industry standards.
   • Inspect rig equipment for hazards and recommend solutions to prevent accidents.
5. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with rig operators, supervisors, and other crew members to ensure smooth operation.
   • During the operations if no mechanical or maintenance interventions are required , he will be proactive and will be involved in Drilling / WO’s activity as requested by Rig Manager 

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education/Certification:
  • Technical certification or trade school degree in mechanics, hydraulics, or related field (preferred).
  • Certifications in diesel mechanics, hydraulics, or welding (preferred).
  • TTs trainings / Certificates
• Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
  • Minimum 1-year TTs Rig experience in same position. (Preferred)
• Skills:
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Communication skills – English - Mandatory

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in onshore Rig locations.
• Exposure to harsh weather conditions, noise, and heavy equipment.
• May require lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 20 + kg .
• Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions.
