The Driller is responsible for operating and supervising drilling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of the drilling program. The role leads the rig floor crew, maintains well control, monitors drilling performance, and ensures equipment is operated safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and supervise drilling activities in accordance with approved procedures.
- Monitor drilling parameters and maintain well control throughout operations.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, well control requirements, and company standards.
- Lead and supervise the Assistant Driller, Derrickman, Floormen, and Roustabouts.
- Coordinate with the Toolpusher, Rig Manager, and third-party service providers.
- Monitor the condition of drilling equipment and report maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate drilling records and report operational or safety incidents.
- Participate in safety meetings, emergency drills, and pre-job planning activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification (or willingness to obtain through company sponsorship).
- H2S, First Aid, Firefighting, and TTs training preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of drilling experience, including at least 2 years on Cyber Rigs or TTs Rigs.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, well control, and rig equipment.
