Purpose of the Role
To perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rig electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations in compliance with company QHSE, IMS, and ISO/API standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on generators, motors, MCCs, lighting systems, distribution panels, batteries, and control systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults and replacing defective electrical components.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical circuits and control wiring.
- Apply PTW, JSA, and LOTO procedures before performing electrical work.
- Complete maintenance records, inspections, and work orders accurately.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical equipment and report defects or hazards.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and assist in managing electrical spare parts inventory.
Authority
- Stop any unsafe work that poses a risk to personnel, equipment, or the environment.
- Refuse to work on equipment that has not been properly isolated and locked out.
- Verify that all electrical safety controls are in place before work begins.
Qualifications
- Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related trade.
- Certifications in Electrical Safety/LOTO, High Voltage Awareness, H2S, First Aid/CPR, Fire Fighting, Confined Space Awareness, and Hazardous Area (ATEX/Ex) Awareness.
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in oil & gas drilling operations.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, control circuits, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Functional English required; Arabic preferred.
