Purpose of the Role
To safely transport personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies in support of drilling and workover operations while ensuring compliance with company QHSE, IMS, and ISO/API standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate assigned vehicles safely and in compliance with company procedures, journey management requirements, and local traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance requirements.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including checking fluids, tires, lights, and safety equipment.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure all passengers comply with seatbelt and vehicle safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, inspection records, fuel reports, and delivery documentation.
- Follow approved journey management plans and maintain communication during trips.
- Report hazards, incidents, vehicle accidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.
Authority
- Stop or refuse any journey that presents a safety risk due to vehicle condition, weather, road conditions, fatigue, or other hazards.
- Enforce seatbelt use and safe behavior of vehicle occupants.
- Refuse to transport unsecured loads or loads exceeding safe limits.
Qualifications
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Iraqi driving license appropriate to the vehicle class.
- Defensive Driving Certificate; 4x4/Off-Road Driving certification preferred.
- Certifications in HSE Induction, Journey Management, First Aid, Fire Fighting, and Hazard Awareness.
- Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or industrial operations.
- Basic English and Arabic communication skills.
- Good knowledge of vehicle inspections, defensive driving, and off-road operations.
