The Government Relations Officer (GRO) serves as the primary liaison between the Company and Iraqi government authorities, ensuring regulatory compliance and the efficient processing of all government-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact with government entities, including the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MOLSA), Ministry of Trade (MoT), Ministry of Interior (MoI), General Commission for Taxes (GCT), and local municipalities.
- Manage expatriate documentation, including visas, work permits, residency, security clearances, and related immigration processes.
- Obtain and renew corporate licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals required for business operations.
- Ensure compliance with Iraqi labor and social security regulations, including employee registrations and statutory submissions.
- Coordinate with customs authorities and clearing agents to facilitate the importation of goods and secure required governmental approvals.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and government policies, providing timely updates and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
- Iraqi National.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Government Relations, Public Relations (PRO), or a similar liaison role within Iraq.
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- Strong knowledge of Iraqi labor, immigration, licensing, and corporate regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid driver's license with willingness to travel as required.
