Purpose of the Role

To safely operate and maintain the derrick, mud systems, and related drilling equipment while ensuring compliance with company QHSE standards, IMS requirements, and applicable ISO/API standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform derrick operations, pipe handling, and work-at-height activities safely and efficiently.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain mud pumps, mud systems, and solids control equipment.
• Test and record drilling fluid properties and monitor pit levels for well control.
• Support BOP inspections, testing, and well control activities.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain housekeeping standards, complete required documentation, and comply with PTW, JSA, and safety procedures.

Authority

• Stop any unsafe work that poses a risk to personnel, equipment, or the environment.
• Adjust mud systems within approved parameters and report or isolate defective equipment.
• Enforce PPE and safety requirements within the derrick and mud system areas.

Qualifications

• Well Control Awareness, Work at Height, H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry, and First Aid certifications.
• Minimum 3–5 years of drilling experience with demonstrated derrickman competency.
• Strong knowledge of derrick operations, mud systems, pump maintenance, and well control practices.
• Basic English required; Arabic preferred.
