Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Plan, organize, and oversee all drilling operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Implement drilling programs and ensure execution aligns with engineering plans and company standards.
- Monitor rig performance, identify operational challenges, and implement solutions to optimize drilling activities.
- Coordinate with onshore teams, company representatives, and third-party service providers.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate HSE policies.
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Attend/Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and participate in emergency drills.
- Personnel Management:
- Supervise and lead rig personnel, drillers, mechanics, and electricians.
- Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and provide training and development opportunities.
- Maintain crew morale and ensure effective communication across all rig departments.
- Equipment and Maintenance Oversight:
- Ensure proper maintenance, inspection, and repair of all rig equipment, including top drives, draw works, mud pumps, and power generation systems.
- Work closely with mechanics, electricians, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Ensure inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and consumables are maintained.
- Logistical Management:
- Coordinate with Drilling Manager- logistics for crew changes, equipment transportation, and supply chain needs.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly operational reports to Drilling Manager.
- Maintain records of drilling performance, safety incidents, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper documentation of permits, regulatory compliance, and operational approvals.
- Emergency Response and Crisis Management:
- Lead emergency response efforts and ensure rig personnel are trained in crisis management procedures.
- Act as the primary point , if Rig Manager is not available , of contact for onshore management during emergencies.
- Develop and implement contingency plans for potential operational risks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Drilling engineering.
- Well Control Certification IWCF – Required. If not , IWCF will be on Company duty and cost .
- H2S Safety, First Aid, and Firefighting certifications (preferred).
- TTs trainings
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in drilling operations as Toolpushet role.
- Extensive knowledge of drilling programs, rig equipment, well control, and maintenance procedures.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of rig equipment, maintenance planning, and drilling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, well control procedures.
- Effective communication (English-Mandatory) and reporting skills.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed on Onshore drilling rigs locations.
- Exposure to high-pressure environments, extreme weather conditions, and physically demanding tasks.
- Rotational shifts and extended work hours required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in high-stress environments and emergency situations.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
