Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

In our company our Logistics department is looking for a Logistics Co-ordinator to ensure control of the final stages of the operational process as the gate keeping point of the manufacturing process.

Based at our manufacturing site in Baghdad and Babeel the Logistics Co-ordinator will be responsible for:

These will include:

1. Work with the managers to ensure that all import orders are delivered on time, in full and in compliance with contract terms and conditions.

2. Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner for example Advance Payment Guarantees and Proforma Invoices.

3. Act as the first point of contact for all issues during delivery, resolving any shipping issues raised

4. Provide regular delivery updates to all logistics team and manage their expectations throughout the delivery process.

5. Monitor invoicing and provide daily and weekly reports to the managers and the team, Ensuring that the shipping schedule is met on a consistent basis and all goods are shipped correctly on time.

6.Providing accurate data transfer to the external broker.

7.Providing quotes to internal departments and Tracking shipments with carriers.

8. Coordinate the movement of goods by road, air or sea for both import and export. 

9. Manage service provider relationships ensuring cost effective booking of deliveries, containers and freight. Monitor freight costs and attend regular meetings with service providers.

10. Review and keep up to date with changes to import procedures and continue to be aware of all legal requirements, including monitoring tariff codes used to ensure continued compliance.

11. Identify and communicate any country specific requirements as and when changes occur and Filing necessary paperwork accurately.

12. Log, track and keep files up to date for all shipments handling customs audits as and when necessary with support from the team.

13 Support the team in busy / holiday periods covering all duties

14. Data entry into various computer systems, including SAP Business One and SharePoint

15.Maintain all Procedural documentation under the Business Management System

16. Continual improvement of processes and ongoing training of colleagues on shipping procedures.


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experienced in import procedures & requirements
  • Experienced in using third party transport companies
  • Experienced in working in a busy customer services environment.
  • Education  Bachelor and/or Master Degree
  • IT literate & confident user of Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate effective team working
  • Able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Attention to detail
