Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repair:
   • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on Drilling Rig.
   • Oversee maintenance tasks for diesel engines, mud pumps, hydraulic pumps,  rotary systems, draw works, hoisting equipment, and compressors.
   • Lead emergency repair efforts and personally implicate to minimize operational disruptions.
2. Preventative Maintenance:
   •  Monitor the implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules.
   •  Ensure all rig equipment is serviced regularly to reduce unexpected breakdowns.
   •  Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.
3. Supervision and Troubleshooting:
   • Provide guidance and supervision to mechanics and maintenance personnel.
   • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
   • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and identify root causes.
   • Perform diagnostic tests and analyze results to address malfunctions.
4. Safety Compliance:
   • Adhere to safety regulations and ensure all maintenance activities comply with company and industry standards.
   • Inspect rig equipment for hazards and recommend solutions to prevent accidents.
5. Record Keeping and Reporting:
   • Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, parts usage, and equipment performance.
   • Provide reports to supervisors regarding equipment conditions, downtime, and maintenance activities.
6. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with rig operators, supervisors, and other crew members to ensure smooth operation.
   • Provide training and guidance on proper equipment use and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification or trade school degree in mechanics, hydraulics, or related field (preferred).
  • Certifications in diesel mechanics, hydraulics, or welding (preferred).
  • TTs Rig Trainings 
• Skills:
  • Advanced mechanical and technical skills.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them effectively on the job.
  • Communication skills – English - Mandatory
• Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Chief mechanic.
  • Minimum 5 Years TTs Rig experience in same position 
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
  • Leadership experience is highly preferred.
